As
I walked along the gate of Ilocos Sur National High School the first day of my
freshman year, I promised myself I would experience every opportunity available
and to cherish each moment I had for the next four years. As the graduation
draws near, I looked back on my time spent here and I am really greatful.
High
school. Those two words can bring out the best and the most tragic memories in
one's life. Although most people view school as a place of conventional
learning: with note taking and tests, it is also full of everyday life lessons
and life tests. I always did my assignments at the last possible minute and
never scheduled my time well. I came up cramming my works, that was when I
realized that I have to dn something. I learned the idea of planning and it's
completely necessary. From that, I learned one of the most difficult concept:
Time Management. I have my own responsibility and I always have a choice,
whatever one I choose in the end is entirely up to me. Throughouet these 4 yrs,
I have also grown a lot, personally and socially. Also, one of the most
important lessons tha I really garnered is the ability to think and make
decisions for myself. I learned
from a valuable experience how to respect and appreciate others and their
opinions. Obtaining a positive self-esteem and self-worth was always a
challenge for me. Listening and speaking were also important things that I
learned. I realized that the way that I learned was not always the way that my
teachers expecteme or even wanted me to learn, I had to find ways of applying
my knowledge and skills.
My
high school experience has been a very challenging four years. I have learned
many things that will help me in life and I feel confident that I am ready for
whatever obstacle I my face. High school has defined, shaped my character, and
helped me to mature into the young woman that I am today.
