Reflection

As I walked along the gate of Ilocos Sur National High School the first day of my freshman year, I promised myself I would experience every opportunity available and to cherish each moment I had for the next four years. As the graduation draws near, I looked back on my time spent here and I am really greatful.

High school. Those two words can bring out the best and the most tragic memories in one's life. Although most people view school as a place of conventional learning: with note taking and tests, it is also full of everyday life lessons and life tests. I always did my assignments at the last possible minute and never scheduled my time well. I came up cramming my works, that was when I realized that I have to dn something. I learned the idea of planning and it's completely necessary. From that, I learned one of the most difficult concept: Time Management. I have my own responsibility and I always have a choice, whatever one I choose in the end is entirely up to me. Throughouet these 4 yrs, I have also grown a lot, personally and socially. Also, one of the most important lessons tha I really garnered is the ability to think and make decisions for myself. I learned from a valuable experience how to respect and appreciate others and their opinions. Obtaining a positive self-esteem and self-worth was always a challenge for me. Listening and speaking were also important things that I learned. I realized that the way that I learned was not always the way that my teachers expecteme or even wanted me to learn, I had to find ways of applying my knowledge and skills.

My high school experience has been a very challenging four years. I have learned many things that will help me in life and I feel confident that I am ready for whatever obstacle I my face. High school has defined, shaped my character, and helped me to mature into the young woman that I am today.

My Dream, My Future!

Have you ever felt as if you were falling down in an endless hole
and suddenly awake to realize that you were dreaming? You might experience one like this, but this isn't what I'm going to write about. DREAMS. It is vital to the life of every person. Without dreams, there is nothing to plan or look forward to,therefore, no reason to live.

Education plays a very important role in making my life as complete and fulfilling as possible. Now, I'm a senior high school student and into the crossroad of my life, where I should choose what path will I choose for my future. Learning more about myself by evaluating my strongest value can be a help toward making wise decisions; knowing what are important to me will help in the accomplishment of my future goals.

Back when I was a little child, until in my 1st yr in high school, I remember myself dreaming to be a teacher someday. But as time goes by, it changed. I'd was once into wanting to be an accountant and so with Med. Tech. and by now, Im still deciding which one to follow. Hoping that at the right time I can be a successful accountant or a Medical Technologist. The possibilities are endless. I dreampt of marrying the man I love and having one happy family living in a peaceful house. I have big plans for my future and I also have a fear of failure. My dreams are what keep me going, they are an object for me to strive for.

Dreams appear to be a cornerstone in reaching our ambitions in life. Everyone might as well has one because those who have no dreams of the future will not fly far away. Whether they wanted to be a scientist and discover new amazing things or become a basketball player and be the highest paid in the league. People dream about their future.

Change: It Starts With Me

Change is constant and we are all equipped with the ability to change. It occurs in many different forms and is carried out in many different ways. Change doesn't occur only when you moved from one place to another for good, or you lost someone close to you. It doesn't have to occur over a single dramatic event, yet, it can just happen overnight when you realize it's time to do something different. Change affect someone view on certain issues even the philosophy of life.

People around us have a great contribution why are we changing, but it is within ourself; it is our own decision if we want it to. We have all the power to do whatever we want. The final move will still be with us and not by the others. The reason why someoene wants to change is usually not their choice, but a feeling that the person feels inside their head and heart. It's almost like a force is making you change and you can't do anything no matter what because yourself is commanding you to.

For obvious reasons, people reject change. Especially those who are close to you because they will start-up with the new you. It will seem like their old companion was gone and they will feel that it will going to separate them. The people that we used to be with wants us to remain the way we are forever or for a lifetime. But, it is a very long time, and no one can stay the same.

Maybe change insn't always good or bad, it could be looked at as something to help me grow mentally. So if someone is changing, be there for them, offer your opinion but help them go througeh whatever they need to go through.

What Now?

Few months from now, we will be high school graduates from this institution of learning, Ilocos Sur National High School. ICT (Information and Communications Technology) became a part of my high school life and I really like it. It talks all about computer and such things connected to it; the internet.

During the third grading period, i sometimes find the class boring because many of our classmates were out for the press conference. Yet, I still acquired many lessons. Specially in the part of project making. That it is better to do things early than doing it just a day before the submittion. Just like in our group, we starting taking photos of the unique products in Vigan two weeks before it but then we didn’t did the other. We only bother doing it a day before and the day itself , so we didn’t finished our project. Nevertheless, I am still glad for that project because I came to know more about the unique products of Vigan.

This was another journey of learning and I hope that I can do better this last quarter.

New Year, New Me :-)

Time really flew or pass by easily. It's like that it was only yesterday when we got to the year 2014 and now we're nearly approaching January first 2015; The year of the Wooden Sheep .I knew that all of us is aware about New Year's Resolution. This are the things that we want to change within ourselves. Our attitudes that are inappropriate and those that others didn't want to see from us. The deeds that we used to do, and now we realized that it should not be. All the things which we used to keep and had in ourselves that we wish to change for the betterment of one's self.

New Year, New Me. This are the words we hear almost all from us every Christmas Holiday where New Year is coming. We were listing our New Year's Resolution and hardly practicing and doing them to reach our goal which is called CHANGE. However, even if had them, if we did not have the perseverance to do it, we will fail.  We had to trust our ownselves and we do not have to be affected by the people around us.

What I want to be this year is to be more friendly, specially that we were about to graduate in high school or secondary level. To lessen my shyness in socializing or being with others, I basically need it because we were about to face another stage of education; a new surroundings and new faces to see and know. To boost up my confidence in talking around many people. Next is to be attentive and concentrate during masses, because I had this attitude that I am always present in church but I cannot help myself not to do others things just like using cellphone. I knew that it is not nice specially that I'm in a sacred event and place. To be a better daughter is next because sometimes I'm being disrectful to my parents and to others.

These were the things that I want to be this year 2015. They were just simple yet very important to achieve for me.

Christmas!

Christmas is one of the most awaited season or time here in our country every year. We want to be with all our family members in celebrating it. They say that we Filipinos has the longest span of time in its celebration. Upon entering the ‘Ber Months’, people are now putting Christmas tree, Christmas lights and other decorations in establishments and houses. They are now also starting playing Christmas songs. In this season, we are expecting to be be given a gift from our ninong and ninang, parents, relatives and friends and to give gifts also. To be bought new clothes also. But, what is the real essence of Christmas?
Christmas is a time to renew bonds of love. It is a great time to show appreciation to each other; to build understanding, acceptance and forgiveness to one another. It is also a charitable time. For us, Christmas is the warmth and love of our families, a celebration of the home. It can be a love for other people – “Peace on Earth, good will towards men.” And lastly, the Birth of Christ. The true essence of Christmas is to remind us the Birth of Christ – the only begotten son of God who sacrificed Himself for the forgiveness of our sin and for our salvation. Celebrating it is a way of showing our love and faith to Him. In showing also our love to the people around us; because loving them means loving also Jesus. He was our creator that’s why.

Christmas is also a time of giving and sharing what we have, specially to those who are less fortunate in their lives.
